My work is animated by questions of place, landscape, memory, belonging, and how communities shape and are shaped by the built environment.
Over the past two decades I've partnered with grassroots organizations, cultural institutions, and global companies to mobilize art, design, and culture as tools for creating more just relationships to the places and institutions we inherit. This has taken many forms: from leading IDEO’s first global DE&I strategy, to building storytelling platforms alongside public housing residents with The Laundromat Project, to curating exhibitions that bring together artists whose work makes visible histories held in landscape.
Today, I lead an independent practice supporting cultural strategy, community-engaged design, and cultural production in collaborative, place-based work.
My training in social work informs everything I do. It taught me that lasting change is both personal and systemic, and continues to shape how I facilitate, collaborate, and lead.
Much of my current work grows from Allensworth, California, the historic Black Freedom Town founded by my ancestors in 1908, where I’m developing a long-term cultural project that brings artists, descendants, and communities into deeper relationship with the social and ecological landscapes of the San Joaquin Valley.
